Estate Medioevale Iglesiente 2026

The historic center of Iglesias comes alive with the new edition of the Estate Medioevale Iglesiente, a series of events that from July to August evokes the medieval atmosphere. The 2026 program kicks off on July 25 with the Chiamata dei Balestrieri in Piazza Lamarmora, continues on August 1 with the XXVII Torneo della Balestra in the Chiostro di San Francesco and on August 9 with the exhibition Arti e Mestieri lungo le mura pisane. The XXIII Festa delle Bandiere in Piazza Sella (August 12) and the XXX Corteo Storico Medievale (August 13) close the event. All events are free admission.

The "Cinema in Valigia" series brings eight traveling screenings to the Medaus of Sulcis, from Carbonia to the historic rural settlements. Each event transforms squares and outdoor areas into open-air cinemas under the stars, with films ranging across genres and Sardinian authors. A journey of images, sharing, and identity, to rediscover the heart of Sulcis through the magic of the big screen. Admission is free and the series is co-financed by the European Union.
OMA Big Band Tour 2026 - Carbonia

The OMA Big Band, formed by the Opus Music & Art association, brings its repertoire on a tour across southern Sardinia in 2026. Performances will take place in towns of Sulcis and Campidano, including Portoscuso, Tratalias, Nuxis, Perdaxius, Teulada, Carbonia and Sant'Anna Arresi. The tour runs from January to August, with concerts in squares and theaters, offering audiences the energy and rich sound typical of big bands.
